Endometriosis may rarely be found in the perineum.
Most cases are associated with an episiotomy scar.
The patient presents with a painful perineal mass with cyclic changes in size and symptoms.
The patient may have a history of endometriosis elsewhere.
MRI shows a multilobular cystic mass with inner hemorrhage.
Complications:
(1) involvement of the anal sphincter
(2) malignant transformation
