Synonym: minor with disabilities of minority removed
A minor is a person under the age of 18 who is subject to a parent, guardian or managing conservator. Any consent given by an unemancipated minor is invalid.
A person under the age of 18 years may have the disabilities of minority removed by a court if:
(1) the person is a resident of the state
(2) at least 16 years of age
(3) self-supporting, managing own financial affairs and living on his or her own
