Oral Mucosal Lesion Diagnosis

Purpose: To evaluate a patient with oral lesions using the ELS oral mucosal lesion quantification system of Flint et al.

Description

Flint et al reported the Extent, Location, Severity (ELS) Oral Mucosal Lesion Quantification System. This can be used to evaluate patients with oral lesions. The authors are from multiple hospitals and universities in England, Ireland and the United States and were participants at a workshop on oral and mucosal lesions of HIV/AIDS.

Each affected location was given a subscript – b if bilateral, u if unilateral.
