A number of adverse cutaneous reactions may occur during therapy with an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor.
Cutaneous reactions that may occur:
(1) inflammatory response (burning or tenderness, erythema and/or edema)
(2) papulopustular rash (acneiform), especially over the face and upper trunk, which is followed by crusting
(3) periungual inflammation (paronychia)
(4) nail abnormalities, including brittleness
(5) alopecia with loss of hair and eyelashes
(6) dry skin (xerosis) with flaking
(7) pruritis
(8) telangiectasia
