Some toxic mushrooms can adversely affect the heart. These effects can cause changes in the ECG.
ECG changes may include:
(1) ST segment elevation suggesting STEMI or hyperkalemia
(2) T wave inversion or pointed elevation
(3) AV block, which can be high-grade
(4) QT interval prolongation
(5) transient Q waves
(6) low voltage limb leads
The changes revert upon recovery if no complication occurs.
