Description

Some toxic mushrooms can adversely affect the heart. These effects can cause changes in the ECG.

ECG changes may include:

(1) ST segment elevation suggesting STEMI or hyperkalemia

(2) T wave inversion or pointed elevation

(3) AV block, which can be high-grade

(4) QT interval prolongation

(5) transient Q waves

(6) low voltage limb leads

The changes revert upon recovery if no complication occurs.
