Description

Therapy with certain drugs may be associated with leg edema.


Drugs associated with leg edema:

(1) antihypertensive drugs

(2) hormones: corticosteroids, estrogen, progesterone, oral contraceptives or testosterone

(3) nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS)

(4) pioglitazone or rosiglitazone

(5) monamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)

(6) gabapentin

(7) pregabalin

 

Antihypertensive drugs that can cause edema include:

(1) calcium channel blockers (amlodipine, other)

(2) beta blockers

(3) clonidine

(4) hydralazine

(5) minoxidil

(6) methyldopa
