Consolaro et al developed 3 Juvenile Arthritis Activity Scores (JADAS) with different numbers of joints counted. The simplest version was the JADAS-10 which had 4 items. This was used as the basis for a 3 item cJADAS10. The authors are from multiple institutions in Italy.
Patient selection: juvenile arthritis
The 3 item cJADAS10 is based on the 4 item JADAS10, with removal of the ESR.
Parameters:
(1) number of joints affected, up to a maximum of 10
(2) physician assessment on a 10 cm VAS scale
(3) patient assessment on a 10 cm VAS scale
points for joints affected =
= MIN(10, (number of joints affected)
The minimum cJADAS10 was 0 and the maximum 30.
If 1 to 4 joints are affected then the designation is oligoarthritis.
If 5 or more joints are affected then the designation is polyarthritis.
