Spasticity can occur in multiple sclerosis (MS) and may be disabling for the patient.
Patient selection: multiple sclerosis
Spasticity involves
(1) an unusual tightness/stiffness of the muscles
(2) jumbling of the legs or repetitive bounting of the foot
(3) muscle cramping
(4) limbs going out tight and straight or drawing up
Disability may involve:
(1) impaired gait
(2) fatigue
(3) limb spasms
(4) pain
(5) depression
