Description

The vermilion (reddish) border of the upper lip may be thinner than normal in a number of disorders.


Differential diagnosis of a thin vermilion border on the upper lip:

(1) Miller-Dieker syndrome (lissencephaly)

(2) geleophysic dysplasia

(3) Cornelia de Lange syndrome

(4) fetal valproate syndrome

(5) toluene embryopathy

(6) fetal alcohol syndrome
