Description

A patient may suddenly lose sight in both eyes without experiencing pain in a number of conditions.


 

Causes of a sudden loss of sight in both eyes without pain:

(1) brain trauma

(2) arteriovenous malformation of the brainstem

(3) meningeal carcinomatosis

(4) methanol poisoning (wood alcohol)

(5) quinine poisoning
