Description

A patient may suddenly experience sudden painful loss of vision in a number of conditions.


 

Causes of a sudden painful loss of vision:

(1) acute angle closure glaucoma

(2) fracture involving the lesser wing of the sphenoid bone

(3) keratoconus

(4) uveitis

(5) optic neuritis

(6) temporal arteritis
