Description

Metamorphopsia is when an object appears distorted.


Conditions that can cause metamorphopsia:

(1) drug intoxication

(2) epilepsy

(3) thrombosis of a cerebral artery (right middle, other)

(4) migraine

(5) lesion of the parietal lobe

(6) schizophrenia

(7) hysteria

(8) astigmatism

(9) macular lesion

(10) retinal detachment

(11) posterior vitreous separation and residual vitreoretinal macular traction
