Recurrent episodes of arthritis may be seen in a number of conditions.


 

Conditions associated with recurrent or relapsing arthritis:

(1) gout

(2) pseudogout (calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate deposition disease)

(3) other form of crystalline arthropathy

(4) reactive arthritis

(5) palindromic rheumatism

(6) Whipple’s disease

(7) relapsing polychrondritis

(8) familial Mediterranean fever or related syndrome

(9) intermittent hydrarthrosis

(10) hyperlipidemia-related arthritis

(11) Behcet’s disease

(12) inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis)

(13) sarcoidosis
