There are a number of syndromes that may precede the onset of psychosis. One of these "high risk" syndromes is the Genetic Risk Plus Recent Deterioration (GRD).
Criteria for the diagnosis of GRD - all of the following:
(1) one or both of the following:
(1a) first-degree relative with a history of any psychotic disorder
(1b) schizotypal personality disorder in the patient
(2) substantial functional decline in the past year
where:
• Functional decline is measured using the Global Assessment of Functioning (GAF).
Exclusion criteria: presence of psychosis
