Determining the Location of a Shooter

Finding the location of a person firing a gun can be challenging if the person is distant and not immediately obvious.

Features that can be used to determine the location of person firing a gun:

(1) person visible

(2) gun visible

(3) smoke from the discharge

(4) flash

(5) sound

(6) possible direction based on impact

(7) body heat

(8) determination of sites by deduction and exclusion
