Description

A person with one or more dental pathologies may develop barodontalgia if there is a sudden change in surrounding pressure.


 

Classification of Zadik:

(1) faulty dental restoration

(2) recent dental treatment

(3) dental caries without pulp involvement

(4) vital pulp pathology

(5) necrosis of the pulp

(6) periapical inflammation

 

Classification of the Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI):

(1) acute pulpitis

(2) chronic pulpitis

(3) necrosis of the pulp

(4) periapical abscess or cyst

 

Differential diagnosis: tooth pain associated with barosinusitis
