Cystinosis may be associated with a number of dental and craniofacial findings.
Craniofacial changes:
(1) higher total anterior facial height
(2) relative mandibular deficiency
(3) retropositioning of the maxilla and mandible
Dental changes:
(1) taurodontism (with elongation of the pulp chamber)
(2) increased caries
(3) enamel defects
(4) bifurcated mandibular premolars
(5) delayed dental formation in childhood
