Description

Banerjee et al developed a decision tree for determining the prognosis of women with Stage I to III (nondistant metastates) breast cancer. This can help identify women who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and the University of Texas at San Antonio.


 

NOTE: The tree is only valid for Whites and African Americans.

(1) number of nodes positive for metastatic tumor

(2) progesterone receptor status

(3) tumor size

(4) race

(5) marital status

(6) tumor differentiation
