Standard cylindrical batteries come in a variety of sizes, with variations in diameter and length.


Most standard batteries are 1.2 volts. Batteries may vary in the number of amperes delivered.

The length is the distance between base and the top of the positive pole. Most batteries have a raised "button" pole while some are flush (flat top). The button adds about 2 mm to the length of the battery.
