Criteria of the Korean Society for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (KSTH) for Overt DIC

The Korean Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis developed criteria for overt disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).

Parameters:

(1) platelet count per µL

(2) PT or aPTT prolongation in seconds

(3) fibrin related marker (D-dimer)

(4) fibrinogen in mg/dL

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 4

• A score >= 3 indicates overt DIC.
