Description

The International Myeloma Working Group reported criteria for making the diagnosis of Monoclonal Protein of Undetermined Significance involving immunoglobulins other than IgM (IgA, IgD, IgG).


Non-IgM immunoglobulins: IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG

 

Criteria for non-IgM MGUS - all of the following:

(1) non-IgM monoclonal protein, with concentration < 3 g/dL (30 g/L)

(2) lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate of the bone marrow < 10%

(3) no evidence of a clinical effect caused by the disorder (absence of anemia, hypercalcemia, renal insufficiency, bone lesions)
