Criteria of Marie et al for Remission of Polymyositis or Dermatomyositis

Does the patient have any disease-related skin lesions?

Has the patient had an increase in muscle strength that is stable?

Do the heart, lungs kidneys and other major organs show a previous level of function?

Are serum muscle enzyme levels (CK, aldolase) within normal limits?

Have electromyographic abnormalities normalized?

Have all improvements in clinical findings persisted after therapy has been discontinued?
