Patient selection: trauma
Indications for laparoscopic partial splenectomy - all of the following:
(1) preoperative CT scan showing single pole rupture
(2) preoperative CT scan shows no injury at the splenic pedicle
(3) blood pressure greater than 90/60 mm Hg
(4) heart rate less than 120 beats per minute
(5) no sign of multiple organ injuries.
where:
• A blood pressure of 90/60 mm Hg has a mean arterial pressure of 70 mm Hg.
