Criteria for sudden cardiac death – both of the following:
(1) one of the following:
(1a) death <= 1 hour after acute onset of cardiac symptoms
(1b) unexpected death during sleep
(2) exclusion of other causes
Supportive evidence:
(1) history of heart disease
(2) history of potentially fatal arrhythmia
