Description

Engert et al reported criteria for early stage Hodgkin's disease. A patient with early stage disease can be adequately managed using reduce treatment intensity. The authors are from the German Hodgkin Study Group and multiple institutions in Europe.

(2) Stage IB

(3) Stage IIA

Clinical risk factors:

(1) large mediastinal mass (>= 33.3% of maximum thoracic diameter)

(2) extra-nodal disease

(3) involvement of >= 3 nodal areas

(4) elevated ESR

(4a) ESR >= 50 mm/h for Stages IA or IIA

(4b) ESR >= 30 mm/h for Stages IB or IIB
