Engert et al reported criteria for early stage Hodgkin's disease. A patient with early stage disease can be adequately managed using reduce treatment intensity. The authors are from the German Hodgkin Study Group and multiple institutions in Europe.

(4b) ESR >= 30 mm/h for Stages IB or IIB
