Eisenberg et al listed criteria for low voltage in a 12 lead electrocardiogram (ECG). The authors are from the University of California at San Francisco.
Leads
Amplitude of the QRS Complex
limb leads
< 5 mm in all 6 leads (I, II, III, aVF, aVR, aVL)
precordial leads
< 10 mm in all 6 leads (V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V6)
where:
• 1 mm = 0.1 mV. 5 mm = 0.5 mV. 10 mm = 1.0 mV.
• Wagner defines low voltage in the limb leads as amplitude < 7 mm.
Low voltage may be:
(1) in limb leads alone
(2) in precordial leads alone
(3) in both the limb and precordial leads
