Relief of intestinal obstruction caused by an impacted mass of ascarids may be diagnosed based on clinical observations.
Relief of obstruction is indicated by presence of 2 or more of the following:
(1) disappearance of colicky pain
(2) beginning of defecation
(3) disappearance of air-fluid levels on X-ray of the abdomen
