Description

Bjork et al reported equations for predicting the creatinine curve for a patient based on age. The authors are from Lund University, Skane University Hospital, University of Liege, Hopital Universitaire Caremeau, Uppsala University and KU Leuven Campus Kulak Kortrijk.

The serum creatinine concentrations in pediatric patients tends to rise with age based on relative muscle mass.

Parameters:

(1) sex

(2) age

LN(serum creatinine for male in µmol/L) =

= (0.000079 * ((age)*3)) - (0.00763 * ((age)^2)) - (0.543 * LN(age)) + (0.259 * (age)) + 3.2

LN(serum creatinine for female in µmol/L) =

= (0.0000686 * ((age)*3)) - (0.00596 * ((age)^2)) - (0.223 * LN(age)) + (0.177 * (age)) + 3.08
