Schmidt et al reported the COVID-19 Radiological Risk Score (COVID-RRS) to evaluate a patient admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. The authors are from Poznan University and J Strus Municipal Hospital in Poland.
Patient selection: admitted for COVID-19
Parameters:
(1) percentage of lung parenchyma showing involvement on imaging studies
(2) pleural effusion
(3) dominant pattern on imaging studies

Interpretation:
• minimum score: -1
• maximum score: 11
• The higher the score the greater the risk of in-hospital mortality.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve is 0.91 from the development and 0.90 for the validation cohorts.
