Corynebacteria are associated with a number of cutaneous disorders. Occasionally a triad of findings can occur.
Components of the Corynebacterial triad:
(1) erythrasma (usually due to Corynebacterium minutissimum)
(2) trichomycosis axillaris (usually due to Corynebacterium tenuis)
(3) pitted keratolysis
If one of the triad is found then the other features should be looked for.
