Description

The number of nucleated red blood cells (NRBCs) is counted while performing a 100 cell white cell differential.


 

If 0-4 NRBCs are counted, no correction of the WBC is required.

 

If 5 or more NRBCs are counted, then the corrected WBC=

= ((instrument WBC per µL) * 100) / ((nucleated RBCs) + 100)
