The correction of urine specific gravity for temperature is to add 0.001 to specific gravity reading for each 3 degree Centigrade above calibration temperature. Alternatively, subtract 0.001 for each 3 degrees below calibration temperature.

= (measured specific gravity) + (correction factor for temperature)
