A cord is a measure of firewood


 

Features of a proper cord:

(1) dried and seasoned (dry volume)

(2) pieces aligned and compact

 

The heating quality depends on the nature of the wood being used.

 

A cord has a volume of 128 cubic feet. This is often stacked 8 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 4 feet high.

 

The corresponding metric unit is 3.62 cubic meters.
