Diverticular disease is uncommon in pediatric patients. Patients with certain conditions may develop diverticulosis or diverticulitis earlier than usual.

Conditions associated with pediatric diverticular disease:
(1) Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
(2) Marfan syndrome
(3) cystic fibrosis
(4) Williams-Beuren syndrome
A pediatric patient who presents with diverticular disease should be evaluated for these conditions.
