Lhermitte's phenomenon is an electric-shock with severe pain extending from the neck down into the limbs following cervical flexion. It may be associated with a number of conditions.
Conditions associated with Lhermitte's phenomenon:
(1) multiple sclerosis (MS)
(2) trauma
(3) radiogenic myelopathy
(4) spondylosis or discopathy
(5) tumor
(6) vitamin B12 deficiency
(7) following chemotherapy
(8) following bone marrow transplantation
(9) Herpes zoster infection
(10) Behcet's disease
(11) other lesions affecting the cervical spinal cord or cervicomedullary junction
