Description

Jansen et al developed a score for evaluating a patient with Crohn's disease (CD). The authors are from Charite Universitatsmedizin (Berlin), University of Applied Sciences (Neubrandenburg) and Krankenhaus Waldfriede (Berlin) in Germany.


 

Patient selection: Crohn's disease (CD)

 

Time period: 6 months

 

Parameters:

(1) Crohn's disease related doctor, clinic or ED visits

(2) new complications (stenosis, fistula, abscess, etc)

(3) Crohn's disease related hospitalizations

(4) flare-up or relapse

(5) Crohn's disease related surgery

(6) change in prednisolone dose

(7) change in anti-TNF agent dose

(8) change in immunosuppressant dose

(9) intake of antibiotics

(10) intake of NSAIDS

Interpretation:

• minimum score: -3

• maximum score: varies with visits, complications, hospital stays, relapses and surgeries.

• The higher the score the more severe the Crohn's disease.
