Description

Fuchs Uveitis Syndrome can have a number of significant complications. It is important to make the diagnosis prior to cataract or other surgery in order to avoid unexpected post-operative complications.


More common complications include:

(1) visual deterioration

(2) opacification of the posterior capsule

(3) cataract

(4) glaucoma

 

Less common complications include:

(1) vitreous opacity

(2) epiretinal membrane

(3) peripheral vascular sheathing

(4) chorioretinal scar

(5) intravitreal hemorrhage (from abnormal vessels at the iris)
