A patient with chronic granulomatous may colitis and other disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
Patient selection: chronic granulomatous disease (CGD)
Gastrointestinal conditions associated with CGD:
(1) chronic colitis
(2) inflammatory bowel disease with granulomata, that may resemble Crohn's disease
(3) pyloric edema with functional gastric outlet obstruction
The inflammatory bowel disease may be localized or more diffuse anywhere along the GI tract.
The patient may also develop acute or chronic infection involving the GI tract.
Complications:
(1) malabsorption
(2) chronic abdominal pan
(3) strictures
(4) fistulae
(5) bowel obstruction
