A skier may develop a runny nose on exposure to cold and wind. The same condition can affect others exposed to cold.
Clinical features:
(1) rhinitis or rhinorrhea
(2) variable nasal congestion and sneezing
(3) onset after exposure to cold
(4) no other better explanation
Overlaps with exercise-induced allergies and physical urticaria.
Therapies that have been used:
(1) anticholinergic agents with muscarinic antagonism such as ipratropium bromide
(2) antihistamine
