Description

The coefficient of variation for a test (CV) gives a true picture of deviation regardless of the nature of the measurement or the methodology.

CV (expressed as a percent) =

= ((standard deviation) * 100 / (mean))

The CV is a measure of the "effectiveness" of the mean to represent the individual data elements. If the CV is too large, then the mean is not effective.
