Description

A patient with Candida esophagitis may present with a number of signs and symptoms.


 

Clinical findings in Candida esophagitis may include:

(1) dysphagia

(2) odynophagia

(3) substernal chest pain and/or burning

(4) upper gastrointestinal bleeding with hematemesis and/or melena

(5) variable oral Candidiasis (thrush)

 

These findings are nonspecific and can be seen with other causes of esophagitis.
