Description

A woman with gestational trophoblastic disease may present with one or more clinical findings.


 

Clinical findings that may be presenting features:

(1) persistent vaginal bleeding after a pregnancy, miscarriage or abortion

(2) onset of vaginal bleeding during early pregnancy

(3) failure of the serum HCG to return to normal after a pregnancy, miscarriage or abortion

(4) an unexplained elevation in the serum HCG

(5) any unusual clinical finding in a woman who has been pregnant within the past few years, including unexplained hemorrhage

(6) unexplained hyperemesis

(7) an abnormally large uterus

(8) appearance of nodules in the vulva, vagina or on a chest X-ray
