Appasani et al listed clinical findings associated with benign gastric outlet obstruction in an adult. The authors are from the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chandigarh, India.
Common findings:
(1) nausea and vomiting
(2) epigastric pain
(3) early satiety
(4) abdominal distension and bloating
(5) weight loss
(6) volume depletion
Less common findings:
(1) recognizable food >= 8 hours after eating
(2) succussion splash ("splash" on gastric auscultation) more than 4 hours after a meal

Consider
abrupt onset
gallstone, gastric volvulus, gastric polyp, migration of PEG tube
absence of gastric distress despite significant distension
chronic peptic ulcer disease
