The clinical impact of Peyronie's Disease varies considerably, ranging from a minor nuisance to a serious problem for the patient.
The hallmark of the disease is a localized, firm fibrous plaque located in the tunica albuginea of the corpora cavernosa. The plaque is often large enough to be palpated manually or seen using ultrasonography.

Clinical findings in a patient with Peyronie's disease which can result in sexual dysfunction:
(1) pain, especially with an erection
(2) difficult intercourse
(3) erectile dysfunction, especially distal to the plaque
(4) emotional distress associated with the cosmetic deformity
