Description

Cat-Scratch Disease (CDS) may present with a number of clinical findings.


Clinical findings may include:

(1) fever, including FUO

(2) primary cutaneous papule at the site of inoculation (by cat scratch, cat bite or flea)

(3) regional lymphadenopathy (one or more lymph nodes)

(4) variable malaise or fatigue

(5) variable headache

(6) variable sore throat

(7) variable myalgia

(8) variable arthralgia or arthritis

 

Other manifestations may include:

(1) infection of the inoculation site

(2) abscess in non-regional lymph nodes, liver and/or spleen

(3) ocular involvement

(4) neuropsychiatric symptoms or encephalopathy

(5) Parinaud's oculoglandular syndrome
