Description

Achilles tendinopathy is an overuse injury that can be diagnosed in an athlete if certain clinical findings are present.


Patient selection: athlete engaged in strenuous activities such as running and jumping

 

Clinical features of Achilles tendinopathy:

(1) pain in the Achilles tendon

(2) swelling in the tendon (diffuse or localized)

(3) impaired performance

(4) exclusion of rupture or other diagnosis
