The condition usually occurs in older adults but can occur at any age.
Clinical features:
(1) skin lesions (nodules, plaques, bruise-like lesions), which may be solitary or multifocal
(2) variable fever
(3) variable lymphadenopathy
(4) variable hepatomegaly and/or splenomegaly
Laboratory features:
(1) thrombocytopenia
(2) variable leukemia (circulating tumor cells)
Differential diagnosis of cutaneous involvement:
(1) SLE
(2) cutaneous lymphoma
(3) leukemia cutis
