Description

Reese and Ellsworth developed a classification system for patients with retinoblastoma.

Findings

Group

solitary, < 4 disc diameters in size, at or behind equator

IA

IB

solitary, 4-10 disc diameters in size, at or behind the equator

IIA

multiple, 4-10 disc diameters in size, at or behind the equator

IIB

solitary or multiple, any size, anterior to equator

IIIA

solitary, > 10 disc diameters in size, at or behind the equator

IIIB

multiple tumors, any > 10 disc diameters in diameter

IVA

solitary or multiple, any size, extending anteriorly to the ora serrata

IVB

massive tumor involving more than half of the retina

VA

vitreous seeding
