Nam et al reported a simple classification scheme for a patient with nevus of Ota. The authors are from Samsung Hospital and Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea.

where:
• The severe category was seen in 13% of Korean patients.
Limitations:
• There is no designation for bilateral disease.
• The scheme does not match trigeminal nerve distribution.
