Description

Lenke et al reported a classification for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Characterizing the features of a patient's scoliosis aids in treatment planning. The authors are from Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis.

Analysis: sagittal radiograph of thoracic spine from T5 to T12, with measurements from the superior end-plate of T5 to the inferior end-plate of T12

The normal sagittal thoracic alignment from the T5 to T12 has a range from 10 to 40 degrees.
